The history of "Kuih Celorot"


  • originated from Sarawak
  • a traditional delicacy which uses simple ingredients and easy to prepare
  • often called "celorot", "celurut" or "celughuk" by the native Sarawakians
  • can be prepared with variety of flavour, such as original, pandan, durian or chocolate

RECIPE FOR KUEH CELOROT


500gm rice flour
1000ml cocounut milk
a pinch of salt
250gm treacle(gula melaka)

ways of preparing

1. boils the water in a steamer and arrange the cases in a container upright so that it is easier to pour the batter in the cases later

2. boils the coconut milk

3. pour the boiled coconut milk into the rice flour

4. mix them well, put in a jug so that it is easier to pour the batter in the cases.
